The Department of Management Studies, under the banner of Mar Elias College Management Association (MECMA), organized the Inauguration of the Confidence Lab on 23rd September 2025 (Tuesday) at the Seminar Hall, Mar Elias College, Kottappady.
The formal function began with the Welcome Address delivered by Ms. Anupama Sukumaran, Faculty Coordinator, who warmly greeted the dignitaries and participants and highlighted the purpose of setting up the Confidence Lab.
The session was graced by Dr. Joseph T. Moolayil, Principal, who delivered the Presidential Address and also formally inaugurated the Confidence Lab. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the importance of confidence-building, communication, and leadership skills in shaping competent management professionals and motivated students to make effective use of the facility.
Felicitations were offered by Dr. Jincy P. Mathews, Vice Principal, and Mr. Praveen Kumar K. P., Head of the Department of Management, who lauded the initiative and encouraged the students to actively engage in the activities of the lab for their holistic development.
Following the inaugural function, a special session was handled by Mr. Solomon John, Head of Professional Development, Dist. Angamaly. In his inspiring session, he underlined the importance of self-confidence, communication excellence, and personality development in today’s competitive environment. He also shared practical insights on overcoming stage fear, improving interpersonal interactions, and preparing for corporate expectations, which greatly motivated the students.
The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Ms. Abhinava, Student Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to the management, principal, faculty members, resource person, and students for their support and participation.
The inauguration of the Confidence Lab marks a significant step for the Department of Management Studies in its mission to empower students with essential soft skills, communication ability, leadership qualities, and overall confidence. The lab is envisioned as a dedicated space for public speaking, group discussions, mock interviews, debates, and personality development sessions, thereby preparing students for both academic and professional success.
