The Department of Commerce at Mar Elias College has come a long way since its inception in 2006. Over the past eighteen years, our department has grown exponentially, producing numerous alumni who now hold esteemed positions worldwide. In line with the New Education Policy, we conduct a Four-Year Undergraduate Program B.Com (Honors) and Post Graduate Program M.Com (Finance and Taxation). To equip our students with industry-friendly skills, we offer add-on courses in accounting and other elite sectors, career empowerment programs, Finishing School Programs, placement assistance, and internships.
The Department has been recognized as an Ernakulam Study Centre by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), a prestigious professional body. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to academic excellence and comprehensive education in commerce and related fields.

• Bachelor of Commerce is an on-campus, honours program, is a full-time 4 years programme with 177 Credit points fully complying with the New Education Policy requirements.
• Students have the option to choose a Bachelor's Degree of Commerce (B. Com) and B. Com (Hons.) as per the New Education Policy (NEP) guidelines.
• This program focuses on how to apply theory to real-world situations, using a variety of methods including multimedia presentations, seminars, case studies, and visits from prestigious guest speakers.
