DEEKSHARAMBH 2023-2024 - STUDENT INDUCTION PROGRAMME

INDUCTION PROGRAMME (UG STUDENTS BATCH 2023-26)
DAY 1 - 10-07-2023


The Orientation programme was organized to welcome the students who were admitted to the UG program at our college. The objective of the programme was to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules, and regulations of the institution, and to ensure parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of the students.
Principal Dr Bruce Mathew presided over the meeting, Chief guest Dr K Muthulekshmi, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Sri Shankaracharya Sanskrit University, Ka lady inaugurated the function, and gave a speech to help the students realize the importance and impact of education. Manager C.M. Baby delivered the keynote address. A few words of blessing were delivered by the Vicar of Kalkunnel mar gee Varghese shahada church.
After the official ceremony, Soft skill trainer and motivational speaker Shine Antony conducted an orientation class for the students, where he shared his experiences and role of  a positive mindset in students. He coached students on academic leadership, open-mindedness, and communication. 

DAY 2 - 11-07-2023
  MENTORING 


An interesting mentoring session was held as part of induction programme. It was conducted by 4faculty members of the institution from various departments. Started session with Universal Human Values for inculcating human values. Discussions regarding various topics like student aspirations, relationships, peer pressure were made. students actively participated in this session. Afterwards, the co-ordinators of various college cells such as NSS, Internal and External Examination cells, Placement cell presented the importance and different activities of their respective cells to the students. The students were made aware of the scope of cells in the institution.
EXTRA CURRICULAR AND CULTURAL EVENTS
The second day of the induction Programme, physical activities were conducted for all first students. Students were divided into six groups and provided three games Viz pass the ball, Lava Walk and Ballon Train.10 members from each group were participated in pass the ball and lava Walk game and 5 members from each group for Ballon Game. All students were actively participated in this session. All the games were judged and evaluated by judging panel.
Cultural activities provide students’ opportunities to express themselves, build confidence, and develop social skills that are essential for their development, and it is important to consider them as a crucial part of the education.
As part of the induction programme, students have been involved in cultural and literary activities in the afternoon session of Day2. For the active participation and interaction between all students, they were categorized into different groups.
Literary activity was conducted as a competition of creating story based on a given picture. Students interacted group wise actively and each group demonstrated the stories in their best way. As part of cultural activities, spot choreography competition was also conducted and students representing each group actively participated in the event.
Both the events were judged and the session was concluded by giving prizes to the winners. 
FAMILIRISATION WITH DEPARTMENT 
All the students were taken to their respective departments to familiarise college mission, vision programme outcome, programme specific outcome and about the credit and semester system and about the examinations. 
OUTCOME OF THE PRPOGRAMME 
● Entrants were able to display confidence and successful transition into a new academic environment. 
● Entrants were able to attach moral values and behaviours with practises of the institutional activities. 
● Entrants were able to show exemplary performance in activities designed during the induction programme.
