Outcome Based Education (OBE), propounded by William Spady is a student centred educational model that hinges on outcomes or goals. The new model envisages to equip students to be able to achieve their competencies in Knowledge, Skill and Attitude domains. This is achieved through attaining a set of goals at desired levels.
This manual, prepared by the IQAC of Mar Elias College, is a resource material to understand the various aspects of Outcome Based Educational system implemented in the college. The rubrics for attainment of various outcomes are mentioned. Besides, the introduction to curriculum design, teaching and learning process, assessment and evaluation and continuous quality improvement are mentioned. It is expected that the manual will serve as reference resource for the faculty members in developing the course plan, assessment plans/tools etc., and to measure the attainment level of students during the course of study.
