One day Workshop on Participatory Rural Appraisal was organised by the Department of Social Work. The workshop focused on involving the community in the investigation, presentation, analysis, planning and dissemination. The workshop was organised as a part of Rural Camp. The workshop was chaired by Ms.AksharaRaveendran, co-ordinator, centre for life skill learning, palakkad, Ms.Soumya Mathew the Head of the Department highlighted the introduction of PRA and gave the inaugural speech. The technical session includes lectures on the methods, tools and techniques of PRA. Practical session was also conducted among the students under the guidance of the faculties. The students were taken to Nemmara Village for the practical application at 1.00 pm.The students after the hands on experience had an evaluation session where each team presented their learnings and challenges. The mistakes and shortcomings in conducting PRA were discussed by the resource person. Overall it was good learning experience for the students. Ms.Bijila O S concluded the workshop with vote of thanks.
