The Department of Social Work, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Equal Opportunity Cell, celebrated International Day for Older Persons on 01/10/2024 2024, at Mar Elias College, Kottapady. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of elder care and promote intergenerational bonding within the community.
The program was inaugurated by Father Akash Kurian Meleth, whose insightful address emphasized the need for compassionate care for the elderly and the role of youth in bridging generational gaps. Father Akash highlighted the value of the elderly in society, emphasizing their wisdom and experience as essential assets to community development.
The event was a success, with active participation from students, and faculties.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the successful organization of the event, especially the NSS and Equal Opportunity Cell for their dedicated efforts.
