WORLD TOURISM DAY CELEBRATIONS - 2023

World Tourism Day has been held on 27 September each year since 1980. The date marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Statutes of the Organization in 1970, paving the way for the establishment of UNWTO five years later. This World Tourism Day 2023, the UNWTO, under the theme “Tourism and green investment” highlights the need for more and better-targeted investments for the Sustainable Development Goals, the UN roadmap for a better world by 2030.
Travel O’ Scope in association with department of tourism studies organized World Tourism Day celebrations “PARYADAN” and Tourism Club inauguration of year 2023 on 25th September 2023 at the college auditorium. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Hareesh S, Responsible Tourism, Distrist Mission Coordinator (Govt. of Kerala). Mrs. Jincy P Mathews, Vice Principal presided over the function.
As the youth need to travel to learn about life and witness the diversity around the world, they also need to be sensitised to their responsibilities when travelling. This will then ensure that their actions have a minimal negative impact on the environment.  Responsible Tourism is about “making better places for people to live in and better places for people to visit.” After the formal session an interactive session on “Responsible Tourism” by the distinguished guest, Mr. Hareesh S was conducted.  75 students participated.
Competitions like Logo making, Pencil Drawing and Travel Trivia quiz were conducted as afternoon sessions for students.
