The National Study Tour of the MTTM (Master of Tourism and Travel Management) programme was conducted from 19 January 2026 to 26 January 2026. The tour was organised to give students practical exposure to tourism destinations and real-world tourism management practices.
The tour began from Kerala and covered important tourist attractions in Hyderabad, Telangana. Hyderabad, known as the City of Pearls, offered students an opportunity to explore heritage tourism, urban tourism, and modern tourism development.
Students visited major historical attractions such as Charminar, Golconda Fort, and the Qutb Shahi Tombs, which helped them understand the importance of heritage conservation. Visits to Mecca Masjid and Laad Bazaar gave insights into religious tourism, local markets, and traditional trade.
The group also visited the Salar Jung Museum, Birla Mandir, and Birla Science Centre, gaining knowledge about cultural, religious, and educational tourism. Modern tourism development was studied through visits to HITEC City and Cyber Towers.
A major highlight of the tour was the visit to Ramoji Film City, where students learned about film tourism and entertainment-based tourism. Leisure and recreational tourism were observed at Hussain Sagar Lake, the Buddha Statue, and Necklace Road.
The tour helped students connect classroom learning with real experiences, understand different types of tourism, and appreciate cultural diversity. Overall, the National Study Tour was an enriching and educational experience that strengthened students’ practical knowledge in tourism management.
