World Environment Day 2024- Haritham

National Service Scheme unit no. 109 in association with Bhoomithrasena organized Environment Day celebration on 5th June 2024 at Seminar Hall at 10.30 am. Following the prayer, Smt. Vidya V.V., the NSS Program Officer, extended a warm welcome to the attendees. The principal, Dr. Bruce Mathew, then delivered the presidential address highlighting the significance of the occasion. The official inauguration was conducted by Smt. Mini Gopi, President, Kottappady Grama Panchayath. The event continued with addresses by the chief guest Sri. Gigi Job, the Agriculture Officer, Kottappady, and Sri. Sabu K. Paul, the manager, shared their insights and experiences, enriching the audience's understanding of the subject matter. Smt. Mini Gopi and Sri. Sabu K Paul along with Dr. Bruce Mathew honoured our chief guests Ms. Gemini and Ms. Leela, members of Haritha Karma Sena of our ward. After that, all the attendees took an environment protection pledge emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable practices and individual responsibility towards protecting the environment. Following this, the event moved to the planting the fruit fruit-bearing tree saplings by our chief guests. The program concluded at 1 pm with a seminar on capacity building for environmental sustainability by Dr. Bruce Mathew. Sri. Lijo T. George, the coordinator of Bhoomithrasena, delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all the participants, guests, and organizers for their invaluable contributions and presence.
