The Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Club of Mar Elias College successfully organized Payasamela 2025 on 14th August 2025. The programme was conceived as a fundraising initiative with clearly defined objectives:
1. To support department and club activities.
2. To provide scholarships in the form of fee deductions for academically deserving and financially needy students from each department.
For the event, the students prepared and sold 360 litres of Pala Payasam. All arrangements, including procurement of raw materials, cooking, serving, pricing, and sales, were carried out by the students themselves under the guidance of the ED Club. The Payasamela was well received by students, faculty, and staff, creating a festive atmosphere within the campus.
The event was a profitable venture, fulfilling its dual role of promoting entrepreneurial learning and generating funds for meaningful purposes. By combining tradition with entrepreneurship, the Payasamela 2025 not only nurtured teamwork and business skills among students but also reinforced the college’s commitment to social responsibility by extending support to financially needy and academically deserving students.
