Electoral Literacy Club is a platform to engage College students through interesting activities and hands-on experience to sensitize them on their electoral rights and familiarize them with the electoral process of registration and voting. Electoral Literacy Club of Mar Elias College, Kottappady in collaboration with Election Commission of India and Election Wing of Kothamangalam Taluk conducted “New Voter Enrollment Special Campaign” (Election Awareness Class) on 09th November, 2023 at College Auditorium from 10:30 to 12:30. The Programme was Presided by Dr. Bruce Mathew, Principal Mar Elias College, Kottappady. A warm welcome was extended to all dignitaries by Mr. Lijo T. George, Electoral Literacy Club Coordinator. The Chief guest of the programme was Mr. Nasar K.M, Tahsildar (LR), Kothamangalam Taluk. The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Ms. Jincy P. Mathews, Vice Principal, Mar Elias College, Kottappady and Ms. Tintu Scaria, IQAC, Mar Elias College, Kottappady. Student Coordinator Mr. Basil Eldhose proposed the Vote of Thanks. It was followed by a session taken by Mr. Ameerudheen K A, Sr. Clerk Election Taluk Office, Kothamangalam. The main aim of participating in the programme was to sensitize our youth about the importance of voting in a democratic state like India and further encourage them to spread a general awareness among their peer groups, families and acquaintances.
