International Day For Older Persons - 2024

On October 1, 2024, Mar Elias College, located in Kottappady, celebrated the International Day for Older Persons. The event was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit No. 109 of the college. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the importance of elderly care and the role of society in supporting older adults.

The resource person for the event was Ms. Ambily M N, a palliative nurse from Kottapady Family Health Center (FHC). Her presentation highlighted the significance of palliative care for the elderly, emphasizing compassionate approaches and medical interventions to improve the quality of life for older individuals.

The program took place in the Seminar Hall of Mar Elias College, starting at 1:30 PM. The initiative was well-aligned with the institution’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, aiming to inspire students and the public to become active participants in elderly care.


The event concluded with an interactive session where attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and share their perspectives on elderly care, further enhancing the impact of the program.
