Inspire ’23 was a humble tribute to the missile man of India, Dr A. P. J Abdul Kalam, on his 92nd birth anniversary. As part of this, our college observed Institution Innovation Day on 16th October 2023 in association with Institution Innovation Council (IIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Club under IQAC. The day began with a session on “Innovations for the Future”, which was dealt with by class tutors, including the relevance of Innovation Day. 3 inter-departmental competitions were organised as part of the day. Firstly, a poster-making competition was conducted with the theme “Innovations for the Future”. A total of 15 students have participated in the competition. It helps to convey the message and relevance of the day through the creativity of our students. Mr. Amal Ashokan (II BCA), Ms. Vaishnavi E. P (III B.COM TAX) and Mr. Nandhu Satheesh (III BBA) were the winners. After that, a “Best Out of Waste” competition was conducted, which helped students learn how they can use waste materials to create useful products through creative and design thinking. 9 teams have participated in the same and Ms. Aleena V Shibu and Mr. Deepu Prakash (III BBA) won the first position. In the afternoon session, an Ideathon competition was conducted, which brought some fresh perspectives from the students regarding clean water and sanitation, which is one of the 17 sustainable development goals of the UN. 7 teams have participated in the competition. The winners were Mr. Austin P Santhosh, Mr. Jittu Bejohn and Mr. Abhay Subramanian of Computer Science. In the afternoon session Mrs Sreekala C, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Applications has handled a session on “A talk on the life story of Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam” for plus two students of Mar Elias Higher Secondary School. 104 students attended the session followed by an interactive session by the students. By observing the day, our institution was able to convey to the students that innovations, creativity, and mass entrepreneurship can create massive momentum in our economy, which will also lead to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
