Hiroshima Day

In observance of Hiroshima Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit No. 109 organized an Online Poster Designing Competition to honor the memory of those who suffered during the atomic bombing and to promote the values of peace and non-violence. The event was aimed at encouraging students to use art as a medium for reflecting on the impact of nuclear warfare and the importance of global harmony.

The theme of the competition was “Hiroshima’s Silence Screams Volumes, Embrace Peace.” Participants were invited to create posters that conveyed the lingering pain and devastation caused by the atomic bomb while simultaneously advocating for a message of peace and reconciliation. The theme challenged students to express the unspoken agony of Hiroshima and emphasize the critical need for worldwide unity and disarmament.

The competition received 10 submissions from students across various departments. Each participant submitted a digital poster along with a brief description explaining the concept and the inspiration behind their artwork. The submissions demonstrated a remarkable blend of artistic creativity and powerful messaging, making the judging process challenging. The posters were submitted online via email.
