College Day - 2025

The College Day 2025 of Mar Elias College, Kottappady, was celebrated with grandeur on 14th March 2025. The event commenced at 10:15 AM with a soulful prayer by the College Choir, setting a serene and reverent tone for the proceedings. Sri. Sunil Joseph, Manager of Mar Elias College, delivered the welcome speech, extending a warm welcome to all the dignitaries, faculty, and attendees.
The presidential address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Jose Parathuvayalil, Vicar of Kalkunnel Mar GeeVarghese Sahada Church and President of the Board of Management. He emphasized the institution’s unwavering commitment to fostering academic excellence and promoting the holistic development of students. The lamp lighting ceremony was followed by the inaugural address delivered by Sri. Bibin George, a renowned cine artist, whose inspiring words resonated with the audience. Adding to the excitement of the day, Sri. Bibin George delivered a wonderful performance, which captivated the audience and was a major highlight of the event. He also honoured the best performers at the college level, acknowledging their dedication and hard work, which brought immense pride to the institution.
The Annual Report was presented by Dr. Joseph T. Moolayil, Principal of Mar Elias College, who provided an insightful overview of the college-level programs and overall achievements during the academic year. Following this, the detailed reports were presented by various Heads of Departments (HODs) and faculty members, showcasing the accomplishments and initiatives undertaken by their respective departments:
    • Ms. Jincy P Mathews, HOD, Post Graduate Department of Commerce, presented the department’s academic progress and initiatives.
    • Mr. Praveen Kumar K P, HOD, Department of Management, elaborated on the department’s innovative projects and student achievements.
    • Ms. Poornima N, HOD, Department of Computer Science, highlighted the department’s advancements and participation in technology-related events.
    • Ms. Soumya Mathew, HOD, Post Graduate Department of Social Work, outlined the department’s contributions to social welfare and outreach programs.
    • Ms. Tintu Scaria presented the IQAC and Department of English reports, emphasizing the quality enhancement measures and the literary contributions of the Department of English.
    • Ms. Febeena O S detailed the activities of the Department of Tourism Studies.
    • Ms. Gadha Jayan showcased the achievements of the Department of Psychology.
    • Mr. Mohanan S, from the Department of Physical Education, highlighted the students' accomplishments in sports and physical fitness.
Ms. Anna Susan Shiji, Vice Chairperson of the College Union, provided a comprehensive overview of the vibrant student-led activities conducted throughout the year. Ms. Preethi M N presented detailed reports of various clubs and committees, including NSS, Finishing School, Mentoring, Library, PTA, Placement Cell, ED Club, Women Cell, Film Club, Photography Club, IIC, BIS Standard Club, Anti-Ragging Cell, Music, Dance, Anti-Narcotic Cell, and Staff Welfare Activities. The Annual Report was concluded by Dr. Joseph T. Moolayil, who reiterated the institution’s dedication to maintaining excellence in academics, extracurricular activities, and student development.
This was followed by felicitations delivered by distinguished guests, including:

The award distribution ceremony was conducted to recognize and reward the exemplary achievements of students in various fields. Kum. Amritha Suku, Chairperson of the College Union, delivered a heartfelt felicitation, expressing appreciation for the efforts of the management, faculty, and students in making the event a grand success.
