Bhoothathankettu is among the most picturesque dams in Kerala. It is said the natural fortification of hills and forests that guard the place were built by bhoothams (spirits/ghosts).The dam is a vantage point from where you can spot the turbulent water rushing from the dam towards the old Bhothathankettu.
And as part of the World Tourism Day celebrations “PARYADAN”, Travel O’ Scope in association with the Department of Tourism Studies, National Service Scheme, DTPC Ernakulam and Pindimana Panchyath conducted cleanup at Bhoothathkettu. A clean-up drive activity aims to raise environmental awareness in the community, for volunteers to work together to remove garbage from the designated site, taking care that disposal of that garbage is managed in a responsible manner.
As it is the departmental extension programme by the Department of Tourism Studies, the Drive was inagurated by Pindimana Panchayath member Mrs. Siji and Mrs. Sindhu, DTPC Ernakulam Officer and other staffs from Bhoothathankettu Tourism Information Center were present. 60 Students from Tourism Club and National Service Scheme participated.
