The Department of Psychology of Mar Elias College, Kottappady, successfully inaugurated its Psychology Club, Psycon, on 31 July 2025. The club aims to foster psychological awareness, encourage student participation, and create an interactive platform open to students from all departments.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Principal Dr. Joseph T. Moolayil, Manager Mr. Sunil Joseph, and Vice Principal Ms. Jincy P. Mathews, whose support and encouragement added significance to the event.
Following the formal inauguration, the day featured a short interactive session led by the faculty members of the Department of Psychology, Ms. Gadha K. Jayan and Ms. Anugraha. The session introduced students to the vision and activities of Psycon, highlighting how the club intends to serve as a space for learning, exploration, and personal development.
The interactive session was followed by a set of fun and engaging psychological activities organised by the students of the Psychology Department. These activities were designed to give participants a glimpse into key psychological concepts through experiential learning. Students from various departments enthusiastically participated, creating an energetic and collaborative atmosphere.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the department’s initiative in establishing a platform that blends education with creativity and engagement. The Department of Psychology expressed its commitment to organising more such activities throughout the academic year.
