Orientation Program on Professional Courses aimed at Commerce and Management students.

The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the IQAC, organized an orientation program on professional courses aimed at Commerce and Management students. The event, held on 23rd July 2024 at 1:00 PM in the College Auditorium, provided an invaluable opportunity for students to explore various career options, including Chartered Accountancy (CA), Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA), Company Secretary (CS), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and more.

This program served as the first step toward launching ACCA and B.Com or M.A.C.C.A courses at Marillia College. Its objective was to introduce students to ACCA and other professional qualifications while clearly differentiating them. This introductory session was crucial in helping students understand the unique benefits of each course before ACCA's formal introduction.

Mr. Vibin Babu, Assistant Manager at ISDC (International Skill Development Corporation Pvt. Ltd.), served as the resource person. With his extensive experience in skill development and professional courses, Mr. Babu delivered a comprehensive session, covering the numerous career paths available to students after completing their B.Com., M.Com., and B.B.A. degrees. He detailed the structure, curriculum, and future prospects of courses like CA, CMA, CS, and ACCA, helping students understand the unique advantages each qualification offers.  Total 145 students were attended the session.

Towards the end of the session, students were encouraged to ask questions, leading to an engaging and interactive Q&A. Additionally, a one-on-one career orientation session was conducted, allowing students to clarify personal career aspirations and goals directly with the resource person.

The orientation program was a resounding success, leaving students well-informed and motivated to pursue professional qualifications that align with their career ambitions. This event laid the foundation for the upcoming ACCA course introduction at Mar Elias College.
