National Mathematics Day is a significant occasion celebrated annually on December 22nd to honour the birth anniversary of the renowned mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan. This year, Dept. of Computer Science and Applications Association IGNUS and IQAC celebrated this day by circulating the theme of National Mathematics Day 2024 in various posters, highlighting the importance of mathematics in everyday life and its role in shaping innovation and progress.
To commemorate this day, an exciting and engaging event, Numina Maths Fest, is scheduled to take place on 31st December 2024, Tuesday. The fest is designed to bring together math enthusiasts of all ages to engage in a variety of fun-filled, intellectually stimulating activities.
The first event, CalcRush (Treasure Hunt), offers participants an adventurous challenge where they will solve mathematical puzzles and clues to uncover hidden treasures. It combines critical thinking with problem-solving, offering a dynamic experience for participants to test their mathematical skills in real-time scenarios.
Next is Memory Mathster (Memory Game), which tests participants' ability to remember and quickly recall mathematical facts and equations. This game is tailored to improve mental agility, concentration, and memory, all while fostering a sense of friendly competition among participants.
Finally, DigiDungeon (Escape Room) brings an innovative twist to the classic escape room format by incorporating mathematical puzzles and challenges that participants must solve to escape. This activity requires both logical thinking and teamwork, ensuring a thoroughly engaging experience for participants.
The Numina Maths Fest offers a refreshing and engaging approach to celebrate National Mathematics Day, making math enjoyable and accessible for all attendees, while also honouring the legacy of Srinivasa Ramanujan and his contributions to the world of mathematics.
