IDEAWHIZ - Student Idea Pitching Challenge

The Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Club of Mar Elias College, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC), organized IDEAWHIZ – Idea Pitching Competition on 8th August 2025 at the Seminar Hall. The programme aimed to nurture creativity and entrepreneurial thinking among students by providing them a platform to pitch their innovative ideas before a panel of experts.
     The programme was inaugurated with a welcome address by Anupama Sukumaran, ED Club Coordinator, followed by the presidential address by Dr. Joseph T. Moolayil, Principal of the college. Faculty members and IIC representatives offered felicitations, and the panel of experts was introduced to the gathering. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the student coordinator.
     Students from different departments enthusiastically presented their innovative ideas. Aparna Biju from 1st year M.Com proposed Campus Zero Waste Store and Collect Reusable Products; Arjun Ajayghosh from BCA 2nd year introduced UniVerse: Your Gateway to Campus Opportunities; Meghna Manoj presented an idea on creating a GST Registration and Return Filing App for Small Businesses; Annmariya Jose suggested a Green Vending Machine for Students in the Canteen; Renjith and team came forward with Cybertide; Ashik from 2nd year BCA pitched Preencoded.png Bus Assistant: A Smarter Way to Travel by Bus; and the BSc Psychology team highlighted Bullying: An Awareness & Solution.
      The panel of experts evaluated each presentation based on originality, feasibility, clarity, and social as well as commercial impact. They provided constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement, encouraging the participants to refine their ideas further for the next phase of the competition.
