Global Career and Higher Education Opportunities

The Placement and Career Guidance Cell of Mar Elias College in association with Eazy Link Academy, Thrissur, conducted a seminar on Global Career & Higher Education Opportunities on 21 September 2023. The programme was arranged in two sessions with a total of 111 students. The first session was started at 9.30 a.m. in the college auditorium. The resource person was Mr. Sony Akkara, International Certified Career Coach & Executive Director, Eazy Link Academy, Thrissur. At 9.30 am, session started with a welcome speech by Ms. Sumi S, Placement Officer. She also introduced the resource persons for the audience .The sessions were interactive and students were participated well in the session. The targeted audience were all UG final year students.
In an era of increasing globalization, individuals aspiring for dynamic careers and higher education have a plethora of opportunities on a global scale. Many universities offer diverse study abroad programs, enabling students to experience different cultures and educational systems. Exchange programs foster academic growth and cultural immersion. The rise of online education provides flexibility for individuals to pursue higher education from renowned institutions worldwide. Virtual classrooms facilitate global collaboration and networking. International research collaborations contribute to a richer academic experience. Collaborative projects with global scholars enhance the depth and breadth of research endeavors. The students got awareness about the details of the variety of research oriented global education programmes.
The seminar focus on career opportunities also. The seminar concentrate on the Cultural Competency: Developing cultural awareness is crucial for thriving in diverse workplace settings. Cross-cultural communication skills are increasingly valued by employers. It explains the importance of Language Proficiency: Language skills open doors to global career opportunities. Proficiency in languages relevant to one's industry enhances international collaboration. The resource person mentioned some strategies for Success.
The session was concluded at 3.30pm. The students gave their feedback. In addition to providing input, the students requested the resource person to guide a comprehensive awareness class about the courses they were taking.. Overall it was very beneficial for the students.
