The Social Work Department of Mar Elias College Kottappady celebrated its 10th anniversary on 14th October 2022 at Peace Valley Foundation, Nellikkuzhy. The program was coordinated by Mrs. Anitta Jaison (co ordinator MESSWA) under the guidance of Mrs Soumya Mathew, (HoD, Dept of Social work) with the participation of the whole students. The team reached at the organization by 9:45 am and the students were split into four groups. Vocational training session was handled by one group under the supervision of faculties Mrs. Priya Paul and Mrs. Thasnim K N. The second group was guided by Dr. Pradeep P N and Mrs. Bijila O S for setting vegetable garden. The third group was supervised by Ms. Merlin Siby and Ms. Anjana Suresh, they visited the inmates and engaged them in various recreational activities. The official program started at 2 pm at the Peace Valley Auditorium with prayer. Mr. Sabith Ummer, coordinator of Peace Valley delivered the welcome speech. Mr P M Aboobakker, Chairman of Peace Valley gave an introductory speech about the institution. Mr. C M Baby, Manager of Mar Elias College presided over the function. The inauguration was done by Sri. Anthony John MLA. Rev. Fr. Eldhose Pulparambil, Vicar, Kalkkunnel Mar Geevarghese Sahada Church blessed the function with his enlightening words. Principal Dr P. K Sudharshanan, Asst Vicar Rev. Fr. Eldhose Paul Thombra, Mr. Joy K P, Mr. Mathew Varghese and Mr K K Suresh delivered felicitation. The official program was concluded by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. Soumya Mathew, HoD of Social Work Department. Various Cultural events organized by the students highlighted the anniversary celebration. The program was a great success with the active participation of all the students and staff.
