Placement Drive Conducted by Popular Hyundai
A placement drive by popular Hyundai was conducted on 10th February 2020 for the final year degree students. Mr.Jyothish K S,Corporate Trainer came for searching suitable talent by conducting student interview .The panel member were welcomed with bouquets and memento as a token of appreciation and respect. Panel members were very keen in conducting campus requirement drive next year also.
The programme was coordinated by Ms.Anupama Sukumaran and Ms.SusmiSabu ,Placement coordinators. Around 130 candidates participated in the campus recruitment drive, out of which 16candidates were shortlisted for the next level.
Overall experience and feedback of Hyundai recruitment team was very positive as the need of their organization to search the right talent to drive its business objectives were fulfilled by the students and the campus requirement drive conducted by us.
Our principal Dr. SmithaHarikumar, motivated and supported in every aspect for the successful conduction of the campus drive and quoted how such Programmes were essential for boosting the confidence of students and for the strong image of our institute by building a bridge between prestigious Popular Hyundai.

TRAINING PROGRAMME ON ADVANCED INTERVIEW SKILL WORKSHOP BY NOSCE( A CAREER SUPPORT TEAM)
A training programme on advanced interview skill workshop was conducted on 25th of February 2020 for the modules of confidence building and etiquette,corporate world knowledge, campus placement , how to prepare CV ,group discussion handling, managing stress, common interview question and answer by placement cell of Mar Elias College,Kottappady. The training programme was attended by 26 students from various departments.Ms.Anupama Sukumaran,Ms. Susmi Sabu were the facilitator of this training programme with the kind support of Principal and management.
Dr. Smitha Harikumar, principal welcomed the gathering and also introduced Mr.Eldhose Jacob ,Resource person to the audience. The principal stressed the importance of such training programs. First session of the training programme began with detailing the importance of preparation of resumes. In the training programme, the students were taught about some good etiquette to be following while attending interview.
Trainer also focused on what is group discussion, how to take part in group discussion and common interview questions.At the end of the day programme conducted with feedback from students.The programme came into end by a vote of thanks by Ms. Anupama Sukumaran(Placement Co-ordinator)

How to Accelerate Your Career
CAREER GUIDANCE
A career oriented guidance and awareness webinar was conducted by Placement Cell of Mar Elias College, Kottappady on 15th December 2020, from 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm. It was titled “How to Accelerate Your Career” and the resource person was Mr. Eldhose Jacob, Campus Recruitment Trainer, NOSCE. Nearly 350 students registered from various departments for the webinar which was conducted through Google Meet platform. Facebook live streaming was also there. Ms. Sumi S, Ms.Anupama Sukumaran, Ms. Poornima N. were the facilitators of this training programme with the kind support of Principal and Management.
The resource person beautifully presented various career options. The webinar served as a guide for students in making decisions on taking the appropriate path for their given skills and knowledge. The programme came into end by a vote of thanks by Ms. Anupriya Vinayakumar,Student Co-ordinator

SOCIAL ENGINEERING ATTACKS
The Placement Cell of Mar Elias College in collaboration with HP Cloud Innovations, Ernakulam, conducted a webinar on Social Engineering Attacks for promoting the Add-on Courses, on 09th January 2021 from 11.00am to 12.00 through Google Meet platform. Mr. K. Sunil Kumar, HOD, Dept. of Computer Scince, Sree Gokulam SNGM Arts & Science College, Thuravoor, was the speaker of this webinar. The webinar started with the welcome address given by Mr. Prajeesh A, delegate of HP Cloud Innovations, Ernakulam.
The webinar witnessed participation from students of all batches. The main objective of the webinar was to alert the attendees about the various short term certificate courses that are very relevant today. Finally the webinar was routed to a Q&A session wherein students put forward their queries and each of their queries was extensively deliberated upon. The session ended on a high note with Ms. Sumi S, Placement Officer, Mar Elias College, Kottappady, giving the vote of thanks to the guest and to Principal Dr. Smitha Harikumar for her whole hearted support for the webinar. Placement officer also offered her thanks to all participants in this webinar.

Report on Job Fair 2020
Mar Elias , living up to the noble vision of its patron Saint, Mar Ignatius Elias III was established in the year 2006 at Kottappady near Kothamangalam. It is affiliated to Mahatma Gnadhi University and approved by Government of Kerala. The college is functioning in a serene campus that provide a conducive ambience for learning. It is administered under the auspices of Kalkunnel Mar Geevarghese Sahada Church, Kottappady. We always aim at giving exceptional quuality educuation to the future generation in a holistic manner which results in the total personality development. With the combined effort of academically qualified and dedicated group of faculty and strong visional management, we are aiming to mould a group of globally competent and socially committed learners.
We belive that responsobilities of the institution are beyond providing education to students to qualify for their academics and so we have jointly organized Mega Job fair 2020 with G-Tech Computers in hope pf providing job oppurtunities for all our students from all streams and for anyone who is in need of a job in our society . 32 industries have participated in Job fair 2k20 and around 2000 students have registered through on the spot registration fadility as well as online registration.
On the day of Job Fair, registration of students was started early in the morning from 8 am. On the spot registration and Online registration desk were separately arranged for hassle free reegistration process. Each companies were provided with help desks and seperate rooms for interviews and to conduuct interview related process. Volunteers were allocated to each companies to assit them and any interviewees who is in need of help. Proper instructions and notices were given to assist interviewees to find each stalls, vacancies in each company and other job related details.
Inauguration
The ianugural ceremony of Mega Job Fair 2k20, under the auspices of MEC College and Gtech Computers, began with a prayer by the college choir and the formal fucution started with welcome address by Mr. Anish George (Area Director ,G. Tech Computer Education) and the presidential address was delivered by Dr. Smitha Harikumar (Principal, Mar Elias College, Kottappady). Our Cheif Guest Shri. Antony John (MLA Kothamangalam) formally inaugurated the function and highlighted the importance of conducting a job fair when our country is facing an economic crisis and unemployment. Rev. Fr. George Thomas, Cheriakudy (Asst. Vicar , Kalkunnel Mar Geevarghese Sahada Church) blessed the occassion with his spiritual words and wisdom. Keynote address was given by Mr. Alan Johns (Placement Coordinator, Gtech). Shri M K Venu (President, Kottappady Grama Panchayat )felicitated all those who worked behind this mega job fair to make it a grand success and finally vote of thanks was delivered by Adv. Biji P Issac (Manager, Mar Elias College, Kottappady) .
Recruitment Process
We have provided all facilities to the industries for conducting their recruitments process along with volunteers to guide the interviewees. Methods like written tests, Group discussions and Personal interviews were used to ascertain the best candidates in this vast pool of interviewees.
